Siamgda

“the way I see, feel and hear life to be – colorful, mystical, rough, noisy, dark, meditative…”

Marc Fischer (Shyam) founded the Siamgda project in the spring of 2001, at the foothills of the Himalayas near Kathmandu, Nepal. It was there that he came to hear about a music university in an ancient Newar settlement  of the Kathmandu Valley, And was introduced to the amazing sound of the Indian „Tabla“ drums. He knew immediately and beyond doubt that he wanted to learn to play these drums and eventually cross  new musical boundaries. He went back home to quit his job and sell off his belongings, soon returning to Nepal.

In 2008, after several years of dedicated training in Indian classical music, throat singing, Sanskrit and Tibetan mantras with different teachers around India and Nepal, Siamgda started to create music in his own experimental and unique style – a blend of tribal
drumming, ethnic sounds, electronic noises and Eastern influences.

In 2010, he founded his own label Mind Plug Records where the first Siamgda albums
were released in digital format.

In 2014, Siamgda joined the German label Ant-Zen and so far, released 4 CD’s
and 1 Digital Ep with them.

In 2016, After many years of living mainly in Asia, the decision to move to
Berlin, and work on several projects, was made. One of these projects
is Hertzklang a ritual-ambient and sound-meditation project,
focusing on sound and frequency research and
its impact on our emotional states.

In 2019, Siamgda joined the German label Aufnahme + Wiedergabe
and released the first 12″ EP with them in March 2019.

In 2020 Siamgda joined the German Label HANDS and
released the 1st CD with them in December 2020
